Feeling this little sense of restlessness and waiting for this I-don'tknow-what-im-doing time to just pass by itself. Don't see any light in identifying formulas, qns type, approaches etc etc and everything just seem the same to me. heh. its not like a changed pair of specs can do wonders to my observation skills.
Had 2 meetings yesterday. OM group turns out to be more fun than I thought. All responsible people (I knew this from the start), but didnt really expect them to joke around etc etc. Sam's still not eating. John has this tendency to say: 没想到你是这种人=D Vivien just looks so funny rushing to meeting. She overslept=) haha.. at present, Sam is the unfortunate person who is getting all the suan-ing. Well, its my specialty.
2125 meeting went well also. A short and sweet meeting for problem discussion and clarification and general delegation of the workload. All PRU-sters. Only thing is that Glad was sick and didnt come for both meetings. Hope she is better alr.
This morn went to give out sponsor gifts. O2 skin was so welcoming. I guess thats due to their fabulous sales during the event. haha.. they are offering to give more discount vouchers maybe for open house and breakers. *winks* Lonsdale will be having a boxing event at novena next wed I think. May head down for some fun if im free despite not really enjoying gore and stuff. haha..
Nice long chat with Karen that lasted a couple of hours and we realise that its a small world. hee. Its really a lot of fast food for the past week. No more fast food!
Did a small video filming thingie. BUt because I think i look so unnatural, I shall not put up the video. Its basically a positioning statement video take. Prep of speech to be used for self intro and stuff during networking, interviews and u all get what I mean.
RESTLESS~~ Gotta go get some fun next wkend when im done with the tests.
Keeping my fingers cross and awaiting results for VIP and SEP to be out. Hope I can get both!! Realised that Im getting better and better a talking to complete strangers due to good training from business=) That's a skill as well as a talent I guess=D

Its HOLIDAYS
Its holidays for one week though im still like.. not free? haha.. so far hols has been a series of eating and sleeping and novel reading. Well, I kinda promised myself that I'll not read more than one novel per day. Still keeping to my promise, except that I forgot to place any restriction on TV watching, comic reading and what have you=) Now im stuck with more work than I know what to do with them. And its the whole cycle all over again. Didnt I promise that I will not let the same thing happen again?! haha.. my brother is right. They never believed me when I say Im going to change. haha.. I guess I shouldnt have trusted myself to change as well=p
There's like 3 mid terms, 2 assignments due next week. AND extra lessons from 6-9pm on monday. YES. Its 9PM. And there are mid term reports to be submited, labs to be attended and project meetings to be handled. PLus Saturdays afternoon are always filled with BioBiz meetings and next week is the 'Booth' week. Still stuck with doing FLV post event stuff now=)
haha.. enough of those serious things. Last saturday was a funny day. I was in school early to print stuff but CBLC as closed from 830-1pm due to a flash course. I went into NUSSU Sec for FLV meeting which is supposed to start at 10am. By the time I have to leave for the BioBiz meeting at 1115, the meeting still hadnt begun. Meeting time for BioBiz is at 1130. They started at 1150. I had to leave at 1215 to meet Miao and Wen at 1pm in town. Then, Miao got stuck at tuition and Wen got stuck at Kendo. Miao reached at 2pm. Wen at 4pm. hmm.. I basically accomplished nothing from 8am to 2pm (Other than getting Karen to treat old chang kee). Just waiting here and there=p
Bought my Ripples slippers finally after my mom threw my previous pair away. I got something that is almost similar because its really comfy. Miao was pretty amused at how Im obsessed with the hairy-touch-water-will-die kinda material. Really liked this pair of shoes from Americaya but the size doesnt fit. Got another pointy shoe from Far East instead. haha.. On one hand, I told my brothers that my feet are claustrophobic and doesnt like to be trapped in a shoe. ON the other hand, I love those pointy shoes that will just make my feet bleed. My bone marrows just have to work harder i guess=)
By the way, they serve fish and chips at Carl's Junior now. Cost 7.40 for the fish and criss-cut fries. Its a very huge portion. Perfect with the salsa sauce=)
OM meeting was not bad. We managed to be efficient and decide on our topic already. Next meeting is at Raffles City BK tomorrow. I marvelled at how my group mate, Sam, from Maths seemed to be able to survive without food. Well, its just amazingly un-understandable to me la. Lunch is a must and lunch is a necessity. A Bratwurst can hardly be considered lunch. =)

A Week At a Glance
Once again another long break since I last blogged. Loads have passed within this week: Chinese New Year, Assignment submission, quiz and presentation. Completely relieved that the week is finally over, and alls well if i just don't too 'gek gao'. The Title "A Week At a Glance' serves to mock at the emails I receive from Business about the talks etc etc=p
New Year eve is always the perfect day for a nice steam boat around a small dining table. As usual, dont be alarmed at the volume of food that we had on the table. We are BIG eaters. Prawns, Fish, Chicken, Scallop etc etc and of course, I helped out in the making of the 'Golden ingots' which are really wanton with pumpkin as filling. Im a PRO k? hee. I probably need to attend cooking classes with Lawrence for everything else though.
The days to follow were a series of visits to temples and relative's house and in return, be visited=p My cousin, Desmond, visited with his girl friend. An easygoing girl I would say. Not bad.
Another cousin of mine visited with my nephews! haha.. Jun Ming and Jun Yao. MY~~ they are so so so cute and are naturally the VIP of the day. Jun Ming is 3 and has a fetish for Lion dance. Probably paternal influence as my cousin in law used to be part of a lion dance troop. My brother sat at the labtop you-tubing for 2hrs with Jun Ming, showing him all the lion dance videos there are. Jun Ming: 我要小小的，也要大大的. Effectively meaning that he wants videos that have both the small lions and the big lions. There are some really funny lion dance videos on you-tube. Can try searching for 'funny lion dance'. Jun Ming was laughing so hard. Jun Ming: 我要好笑的. And there my brother was trying his best to adhere to his request. hee.

Jun Yao on the other hand is a chubby kid. Active at the age of 1. He offered me his half eaten 蛋卷 and subsequently fed me as well! When he hugged me, my heart just melted! Oh my 天! How come kids are so cute!
JUst a side note, I realised that the special smell found only on kids can induce protective behavior. Maybe someone can find a way of capturing the smell?
On Saturday, went on a round of visits first to Miao's house, Wen's and the last stop is my house. Had very nice bakgua at Miao's house. Its probably partly because I haven't had bakgua in about 8 years already. Miao and Wen's sis had a very intense discussion about the singapore oldies dramas and Im pretty surprised at how much people actually remember from childhood. Those long lasting memories.
Probably one of the more interesting 
Sundays, we (aka me,pj,glad,jl) met at the mac donalds next to bras basah to do our assignmentsS due the next day. That lasted from about 12-630? With an intermittent ice cream break (special treat from Glad). I must say that Twister fries are superb, and I am positively addicted. At least during the new year period. It was a tiring day of graph plotting. You 
have no idea how tiring graph plotting can be. IMAGINE 
doing Trial and Error Graph plotting. Still sounds easy? You must be hallucinating=) Using Computer is probably faster but non of us brought our labbie and printer along. so yup. NOt to mention that the previous night, Pj and I discussed the assignments from 10pm-230am through MSN until we both dont have any more energy to continue.Had a class gathering that night at Arab's street. Amira's. Food's nice, ambience is good except for the couple of people smoking 水烟outside. They serve turkish food and are famous for their Kebab. Shared a set with glad (she got me lost on the way there). However, if anyone is hungry, including pj, do not attempt to share the meal. The portion is really REALLY... eh. not very big. There is this drink by the name of i-cant-rmb-what that is worth mentioning. An excellent mix of milk with yoghurt.
To Ker Wei and Rahul going to australia soon for Meddy and Denny, do take care and return to fulfil our great plans of visiting TJ together. Recollections~~ heh.
Did something dumb on Valentine's. Haix. Im always doing dumb stuff. Dan bought roses for all his closer girl-friends. Well, when he passed me mine, my first reaction was: WHY LEI? Foong Yi, Flora and Pj started laughing. Dan was positively dumb founded in that what-sort-of-lousy-response-is-that face. To Dan: Thanks loads for the flower and im sorry for being a lousy recipient. But anyway, am I considered lucky because its you? 'cos I really dun think I have any more 型象in front of you to start of with. Hope you werent too busy revising for 2116 and enjoyed your date with Maxine!

On the same day, SK spilled the aqueous phase containing Butyl Acetate onto the floor. Extremely hazardous and uncomfortable to breath in. Personal description: Mr Pang's smelly markers X100 times intensity. We were joking about how SK shortened all our lives on that day.
The test is as usual, cant do plus careless mistake, I'll get about 30/100 with a standard deviation of 10 marks. hmm.. shadnt elaborate. Formed a group for my Operations Mangement: Vivien(TKD 1-yr senior), Sam (TKD 2-yr-senior), John, Glad, me. Hope all goes well!
Chem Engineers are sad people who have lecture and presentation on saturdays. Looking forward to mid term break. I need my bed! And Special Thanks to Ken and Wen for lending me clothes for the presentation just now! Wen looks so cute rolling in bed with her blanket. haha.. i mean it. Ken's fashion sense has once again impressed people. He probably should go make a video on 'check out my matching shoes'. haha.. cant believe how cute his shoes are, or at least pj couldn't believe=D

HI ALL!
Fest La Vie 08 has ended and definitely with a BLAST! I hope all of you had a good deserving rest last night. Not exactly a person good with words, I shall attempt to pen down all my gratitude and emotions within this post. Haha.
These few months had not been easy but all of your commitment and efficiency definitely lightened my load by tons. I took on this project with great expectation and visions to fulfill due to last year's huge success. With no doubt, FLV08 has definitely met or even surpassed the success of last year's. In many many ways, I would like to thank each of my following cells:
My Vice Pds – Kat & Da Bai
Couldn't have done it without the 2 of you. We complement one another in so many ways! I'm a total marketing-know-nothing so thanks Kat for all the help in marketing! As much as how I value the welfare of the committee, sometimes it does slip my mind with so many things occupying my brain cells. But! There's always da bai to remind me about the late timings, concerned about all of your hungry stomachs and basically taking care of your welfare =)
My PA – Bel Bel
PA = Personal Assistant. Thanks bel, for taking care of the administrative stuff for me. All the nitty-gritty things like informing the com about meeting details are one of the most important things to do as it coordinated all of us together and let meetings go on smoothly. So sorry that your job as yet to end as this is the time for your treasurer duties to start. But don't worry! I will be with you to work out the sums =D
My Floor Manager – Char Siew Bao
Though you tend to doze off in my meetings, your efficiency and help is really really appreciated. Thanks for spending 3h to do up the floor plan esp when I asked for it like quite last minute. Thanks for the small gossip talks we had throughout these few months as I believe they must have relieved my stress level from time to time. Haha.
My Food Cell – Cecilia & Clara
I guess the 2 of you must have hated the dates chosen for FLV08. CNY period definitely affected you guys the most as vendors are unwilling to come in due to this festive season. But the fact that you gals still managed to bring in 11 vendors (1 backing out last min) is really commendable. Thank you so much!!
My Log – Eric, Xing Yan
The sai-kang warriors and largest-spending cell of FLV. Haha. Thanks for all the coordination with the various logistics sources and it was really heartening to see everything setting up on Sunday – materializing all our planning and visualizing. There may have been some last minute screw-ups etc but we have all benefited from them. Not only for the both of you, I've learnt more about logistics planning over these few months as well =)
THE Marketing Cell – Karen, Wei Ling, Mindy
My 3 damn zai marketers. Andrew was complaining about the banner looking ugly as ¼ of the space are covered by sponsor logos. Haha. Marketing has always been my biggest concern when I took on this project as FLV needed so many product sponsors for the auction. But with the 3 of you plus Kat, I did not have to worry much as everything was nicely done and look at what fabulous products you guys brought in for The Great Auction! Yesterday's crowd won't have been possible if not for the 3 of you :D
My Programmers – Jasmine, Jenny & Jian Wei
I believe the past week had been as exciting for me as for you guys. The last minute changes in programmes due to the sound constraint had affected you guys the most but I'm glad all of you took it in your own stride and did not give up. Many seniors have commented that the performances that took place were good and short, fulfilling their purpose of drawing crowds for the 2 days. Well done programmers!!
My PROs – Donne(-y) & Mei Yian
Almost all the 13 standing coms participated in FLV this year and I'm really thankful for the 2 of you. Both of you had been professional in your PR with these standing coms though I know it is no mean feat to liaise and work with them as some can get really draggy to reply us. Though FLV has ended, I'm not sure if that means you guys have finished your job too. Haha. Do continue to keep up a good relationship with the standing coms! Hees.
My Pub – Jie Ren, Shin & Yu Hui
Finally, my last cell. Haha. Out of all the cells, I have interfered with this cell the most - from gek-gaoing the designs to going round putting up the pub materials. I'm sorry if at any point in time, I had irritated you guys with my picki-ness (though I still don't think I'm really THAT gek gao. Haha). FLV08's success is no doubt due to all of your pub efforts – the BIG gameboards, posters with funny pictures, professional flyers, the short-lasting human silhouette and of cos, the keep-dropping-and-disappeared hanging boards. Thanks Shin, for the highly-praised com tee J Many ppl have told me that our shirt looks really nice!
Recalling, it was a tough decision process for the 3 of us when we were forming this committee. With no doubt, I have absolutely no regrets about this committee. All of you had been a vital part of this entire event and the success wouldn't have come by easy if not all every SINGLE one of YOU.
Putting the success aside, I hope all of you had benefited from this experience. This is the most important thing to me than anything else. Even for the seniors, I would like to thank all of you in helping me to lead this committee and passing down the knowledge and passion we have for PRU. To the Year 1s, I do not blame any of you for any screw-ups as all of these constitutes to learning points for all of us. We tend to learn more through mistakes and this is how we grow and improve.
Enough said, I will see you guys soon for our last meeting to sum up these few months of hard work and effort. In the meantime, do catch up with all of your studies and hope to still see you guys around ok! I will try to save up money quickly for the PD treat too. Hehs! P.S Does anyone want to take the initiative to orangise (ahem, Shin) our SECOND com outing?? :D

Sometimes, Im very thankful
It has been a really long time since I last blogged. Well, about 10 days i guess. haha.. been really busy with FLV. But nevertheless, it has been so so so fun doing all the 'sai gang' together, running all over the place, being shag together, or maybe even freezing half to death while camping in school=)
Yu Hui made me gain weight by dragging me along everytime she is hungry (which is all the time=p). Cecilia has loads of lame jokes and is officially a self-proclaimed 虫虫 (Biophysical environment lover)=D Jasmine's oh man and Mindy's oh my 天. Not forgetting JianWei's blur face (forever not knowing what is going on), Jr and bel-bel's fling and also BFG's Eating competition, Unglam's hamster face, 大牛小牛brotherhood and loads of other funny things!
First day was the Fashion Walk. We had Lonsdale and Stitch brands. Had the opportunity to liaise with the student models and got to know quite a lot of new friends! haha.. was so stressed subconsciously. Both the sponsors are in the midst of the crowd. I was almost breaking out into cold sweat until I saw the sponsor smile. PHEW~~ Was there sitting in the middle of the steps so that the models can look up and stare at me instead of having to stare at the floor (if they are scared). haha.. but they are all the confident group of people and sometimes slightly 自恋=) The guys all looked very experience and basically there was alot of discussion about who is the most attractive=p Well, its a tough choice so im not gonna choose! The girls are so sweet and Cheryls are just COOL! How can I not be impressed?! WELL DONE! hee. special thanks to Norman for coreographing and a pat on Marketeers' shoulders for the work! Also want to thank all the models for helping out at such short notice and being so nice and friendly to me, not forgetting being thoughtful and understanding when it comes to the apparels use! Thanks loads! U guys don't know how grateful I am!
The Second day has seen large crowds all through the programmes from 12-2pm! hee. Eating competition saw PRU team emerging as the winner. Donne is really 'UP THERE'! His 铁砂掌 digging into the watermelon and scooping up and eating with his hands! He is just so so so cute. This Big Friendly Giant~ Shaun looks so refine in his shirt, eating the slowest in the team. He claims that with Donne around, there is no need to show his prowess. I seriously doubt how fast he can eat though! haha.. Stop being defensive about your eating speed! I'll just believe u yea.
This was followed by the GREAT AUCTION! PSP, Nintendo, Sony Errisson phone, Brother Printers, Bali Holiday resort stay all at a starting bid of $1. There were many more items but due to time constraints, we had to chop chop. Still amazed by Jeff's MC-ing skills. Basically he was PRU Chairperson 2 yrs back and is a DJ at JIA 883. Humourous and Entertaining. What more can you ask for?!
Relieved that everything has gone smoothly and its all over! Learnt alot throughout this experience. Maybe PRU is just comprised of crazy people who cant care less about making a big RAH RAH about anything. How to approach people to draw crowd and not to feel Paiseh anymore. How to talk to sponsors, draft emails, proposals, meeting sponsors, finalising details, checking contracts... Marketing was fun! Except that we really had to start work very very early when other cells practically had nothing to do yet. Thanks to Karen for introducing me to many many PRU people and Mindy for accompanying me as a 菜鸟in all these PRU business. Also thanks to Ghim, 'Min yi' and Fred for helping so much when all of us are starting to feel the pressure of having almost no helpers. Thanks for sharing about internships and past notes.
We may be the comm who slept the most, but we also have many many components. Personally, right now, im one tutorial and 1 hr webcast behind time. Tired but satisfied with myself and what is happening around me. I have once again testified to myself that my joining PRU is the right thing. Having something outside just work is the best thing that has always happened to me! Loving every moment now.
Its CNY eve today and I wish every one a happy and prosperous new year. Most importantly, please stay healthy and happy!!
I need to plan how im going to clear the 2 assignments due on monday, 3 tutorials, 1 mid-term test on friday and 1 presentation on saturday next week. Its just Whoa.
Logistics for BioBiz is next. Hope everything goes smoothly as well and looking forward to learning more and meeting more people!
