Updates=)

2 weeks has gone past just like that. With the piling work and projects and i can just go on and on about them. haha.. but enough of complains, been busy mainly with publicity stuff from PRU. I guess i have not yet settled properly into the idea of full-blast work yet and hence, am feeling abit of a stretch here and there=)
hee. FLV game board is very very nice! There are currently two of them, one at science and one at arts walkway. Do take a look when you walk past. hee.. JR de idea 是'仔'的咯！haha.. tmr is VBash and friends who know me know that I don't club. But anyway, would have shown some support for PRU events and buy a ticket(show face) if it isnt my mom's bday tmr. Sorry Yee Kai. I could have gone=p
CN2108 lab started. My lab partners are TG and SK. hmm.. how should I put it. haha.. they are both nice people who I feel are serious about work. SK is a self declared MCP who thinks that women cant handle machines. Well, I did prove him wrong when I managed to get the Pressure Control to cooperate. AND women don't JUST belong to the kitchen k? =D haha.. Thought that was very honest of him to actually habour such thoughts out loud. haha.. TG claims that we were going to start a war on that topic. But we are all civilized people=D Oh. SK also self-declared that he has long legs and erm.. sucks in Chinese? =p
Im not too enthusiastic about chem eng labs though. It involves a series of buttons pressing and intermittent stoning while waiting for equilibrium to set in before we can take the readings. Not as happening as chemistry labs when we were always having this mad dash to finish the experiments on time. haha.. but having said that, even though CHE lab is easier, the report is a whooping more-than-30-page one. haha.. Just a side note, why is it that the Chem engine labs must be located in some ulu places that looks like a deserted warehouse that is far from civilisation?! You guys DON'T ever leave me to get out of the place alone!
Oh. and I kinda joined the logistics team for a conference called BioBiz. haha.. Its a conference for the biochemical industry which I think is rather relevant to my current interest in specializing in pharmaceuticals. hmm.. but joining this was pure.. luck? Thanks to all the wrong information that Jian Liang gave, PJ, GQ and me all became the logistics team. haha.. Currently nothing much to do for it yet (PHEW! if the busy period clashes with FLV, i'll just peng san.)Hopefully will learn something out of it!
So far so good.. so far so good. but WEILING. STOP BEING SHAG K? its party time!!

Disorientation

Well, I'm not sure about all of you, but my first week of school ZOOMed past. Feeling slightly disoriented what with 5 project groups, quizzes, tutorials, graded homework x n, reactor design X3. This is not considering my need to construct my CV and not make it sound lame, my need to Teleport (Flying is not fast enough) from engine to business on wednesday (because '15min before the lecture is considered punctual), my need to learn how to look clean and tidy, trim and fit AND not to forget that Im to very cautiously and deliberately plan to beefen up my CV. In addition to this is my administration stuff for SEP, DDP (Went to 3 offices to sort it out. haha.. had a nice chat with lesley from the Dean's office. She was very helpful. Thanks!! I'll look you up after my SEP) and my problematic balloting session (they closed my lecture group for macro econs due to low human-count and my time table is officially in a mess). Adding on is FLV stuff to be done. Publicity, sponsors meetings... I have more stuff in my mind like thinking of VIP (Vacation Internship Programme), case-competition, Bloomberg etc etc..Just thinking..
haha.. not that im not enjoying the learning process and the interaction with people... Got to know another business student Ahn and another DDP student (Wen Hao) just by sitting beside each other during lesson and briefing. Thats the nice part about business fac. Talking to the person next to you is downright common. Friendly I would say. The more critical can call this networking.
Contrary to most believes, Chem Engine tutorials start in wk2 (before balloting is even done) . We do not start in wk 3. Labs start in wk 1. haha.. Abit stunning right.
Special Thanks to Dan for sitting in during macro econs with me. yea. remember 20.7 and you should have known you should GET OUT of my way.Thanks for so much laughter in that 2hrs. haha.. u r 'a joke' to be around. haha.. just like I think Im more or less like a clown to you. hmm...
And to my 8-member group: DB, Karen, Brenda, Glad, Fred, PJ, JR and ME, haha.. hope we have a great and eh.. productive?- time together. haha.. JR is a funny person. He slacks ALL the time and tries to pretend that he doesnt=p hee. shing lam saw right through u=D AND if u ever splash even ONE DROP of paint on my hair, I'll @#$%^&. haha.. he splashed paint on my hand and went 'oops'. AND he said that Im as SCARY as Glad. haha.. this is not the way yea=p

Day Before Sem4=D

Hee. Peeping forward for school to start all over again. Dont you just love the sense of purpose when you wake up in the morning? The jump-out-of-bed-and-crawl-to-school act that we have all repeated N times so far=) Reminds me of how my dad used to deposit me at the kindergarten despite me throwing a tantrum, wailing and screaming. I was so afraid that no one will come for me when its time to go home. To-be-Primary ones looking forward to and yet worried over the first day of school. What if I have no friends? That was the first time you CONSCIOUSLY tried to adapt to a new environment. Well, this is assuming that you were a normal kid and couldn't really remember anything when you were just born (adapting to your home) and when you were 3 (Nursery age). Every year-end when you have to visit and queue at the school book shop with the Book list in your hand. The anticipation of having new books bigger uniforms wearing ties new shoes more pocket money... even the air smells better=D I even remember trying to decide if I should buy exercise books that have the bigger boxes or those with the smaller boxes. If I need to buy more Jotter book and Note book. Such fond memories of my childhood=)
Start of every school day has always been good. Going into class to see Jess filing her nails and Joanne fiddling with the Cedar tie. haha.. we couldn't really do the knot. It was the look-alike on the outside, but WRONG on the inside! A knot will form if you pull the narrower side of the tie (Cedarians will know what I mean). This is not to mention that ties always end up too long or too short. Miao was always earlier than me (or almost always). She will scream a loud GOOD MORNING LING LING~~ when I step into class. She does that with a novel in her hand (this is a given). Makes me smile like an idiot just thinking about it (which I always do when Im right outside the class waiting to hear her voice). Just imagine how loud that was. haha.. and she goes GOOD MORNING WEN WEN to wen. That was when I realised that if you take a deep breathe in the morning before entering the class, you can stay happy for the entire day. The air is absolutely refreshing. Add the booming greeting, what better way to start the morning? =D JC Mornings are interesting. How Mr Lim taught me that if you cross the road after you passed the sign (blue sign with black man walking), you'll not be considered as jaywalking. His pace is really slow. Grouchy in the morning. haha.. it was just too bad that he sees me too often in the morning. I always disturb him=p 17/04 is always just on time for assembly. hee. we loiter at the canteen for a little too long and absolutely refuse to budge until the tutors start chasing us=p
I am a Morning person and I love school=)
I might nag abit and complain a little.. but still...

Last Week of Hols

It had been a busy few days. Met wen for breakfast on tuesday. haha.. really like the way she styles her hair. Seems like she is getting more comfortable in her current hairstyle since she is dressing up alot more than 2 months ago.I bought a pair of jeans for $15!!! haha.. It came as a surprise to me as well. Did not know that there was additional offer=p
Wednesday, Thursdays and Friday was a series of meetings with sponsors and with FLV comm. The last minute rush to complete stuff before school reopens. But so far so good! Love meeting sponsors. They are all really nice people who jokes, make fun of people and try to SMOKE their way through as well! That makes them seem really human yea. To Mindy and Karen: No way am I going to swing myself over the Singapore river at 50 m off ground. Seriously. I'll video cam for u girls down on earth.
By the way, Mindy and I got drenched on our way to Cathay. Thanks to some kind hearted soul who sheltered us at the traffic light. The rain felt something like some one just poured a never-ending pail of water from the sky suddenly. It seems like witha click of the fingers and a blow of the wind, the rain just collapsed from the clouds. I think you get what I mean. We were drying our clothes and hair and hogging the hand dryer in the toilet=p
We ate together at Thai Express on Thursday. I had 'shrimp paste fried rice with seafood' (Super duper long name) It looked nice, smell nice and taste even nicer! Shrimp paste is like omg-unhealthy but also omgish-nice. Just like why so many people are stuck on sambal kangkong/prawns and balachan chilli.
Mindy's oh my 天 and Single-tasking ability is so funny and cant be more true. Badmouth whatever you want when she is sms-ing. She wont hear a thing=p
I ordered 咖里鸡幼面 at arts canteen. How many of you do that=D
School is starting! Feeling a little excited about it already=)
p.s. got bitten by a bug today. there is a little 'bubble' on my finger now.

Fascinating

Happy Birthday to Bin even though his bday was a couple of days ago. Went to minds again, the second time in this short one month of holidays. Im the one who asked to go to minds, so no complains from me there. hmm... tried a really spastic game which is much like the 'potato counter' in neopets (if u noe what Im talking about), but in this case, we count apples. haha.. Bin's quite good at it though. We tried citadel, ugly dolls, pictionary, taboo, SNORTA!. Turned out that the most exciting ones are those listed under the no-brainers=p SNORTA was really fun when all of us choose animal sounds that are pitched in a way that are just simply impossible to say when in a rush. Either u forget it altogether (many many syllables involved) or u cant seem to get the tune or tempo correct. hahaa.. DY's was really easy for me. He CLAIMS that I sound more like a hooligan after a while. haha.. its really not me. Its the sound that he choosed : hoo hoo hoo. hoo hoo hoo hoo. (hoo='whooo') While all of us choose stuff that are 5syllable and above, bin tried to be funny and choose 'cheek cheek'. haha.. AND, he did NOT end up with the least cards! DY did. bin got all his cards from winning DY=) What does this says about DY man. =D
KW's back for the hols from her meddy studies in Australia. haha.. she LOOKS like my family doctor! Starting to give off the aura of a trustworthy doctor! Thereafter, we went to Central for Subway (Shrad is veg) and chat till 9plus before I left early=) They are really funny people! Its amazing how a group of friends can just sit and talk and be so entertained by each other.Maybe its because we dont meet up very often. Maybe its because its the hols. Or maybe its just them. We meet up everytime there's a birthday. Its been a long while since we had 80% attendence=)
Oh ya. Went to this massaging place near Chinatown (I Think its Apollo Centre 2nd storey). They offer free trial of the massaging bed that uses infra red and jade-rollers in the bed to massage. Its supposed to be good for the spine. Hmm.. it was relaxing though initially its a little painful (Supposed to be this way since my spine is abit slanted). It wasnt exactly like what I expected from what my mom described. Was pretty impressed by the turnup. They go in batches of i think 20 people. Each session lasts for 40 min. And every session is full! They open at 9am - 540pm. Thats like how many people per day?!Impressive isnt it?!

Seasons in the sun=p

Been a few enjoyable days meeting up with close friends. Had FLV meeting yesterday and finally the whole group of us went to YIH canteen for food. Usually this is not the preferred move as most of them thinks that the food there is not very edible. hmm.. due to the recommendations of Da Bai, all of us flooded to the Nasi Padang store. The boss must be super happy to have a queue of 12 people buying from her! Its really not bad, but then, I'm not one to have very high expectations of food. As long as its within the category of food that I eat, I'm generally fine with the taste.

Thereafter, had movie at marina square with Joanne. I Am Legend. A rather typical western made movie I would think. Its about this genetic engineered cancer cure that turned into a disaster a few years later, turning humans to lose all humanity. A quarantined New York City was filled with such 'creatures' who hunt for healthy human for food at night(they are scared of light). One day when Roberts was injured, his dog got infected and he had to put it down before it turned violent (general symptoms: fully dilated pupils, fangs, complete hair loss). He thought of killing as many of those creatures as possible and just die doing it but was saved by a woman. Because it was dark when the woman rescued him back to his house, they were followed by the creatures and so.. the next night, thousands of them just flood to the house. It was then that Roberts realised that the cure that he was inventing works! Too late. He took a syringe full of the cure and passed it to the woman and her son, hid them in a chimney and ignite a granite to kill off all the creatures at his house.This is how mankind managed to survive and hence, he is the legend.

Typical as it is, I would say that if anyone is looking for a little scare, this is the movie. The sound effect and the graphics made sudden and unexpected, catches people off guard. I was eating peanuts, but decided to stop in case I choke when something jumps out=p

Dinner was at Fin. Had Fish and chips and chat over dinner about school. How the fork should not be pointed upwards throughout a formal dinner etc etc. Went for a walk at esplanade, seeing loads of couples enjoying a romantic moment, friends eating at the open air food court and people staying in a far away hotel basking in the dim yellow light that speaks of anything but stress. There was a small performance at Esplanade: piano, guitar, percussion and a singer. hmm.. good enough to kill some time and breath in some artistic flair.

The night was peaceful with the Merlion in the background, the wind blowing from the 'river' and a long-time friend.

Today, glad and pin came to my house. haha.. im rather surprised that we can occupy ourselves from morning till night. 9.5hrs spent eating carrot cake for breakfast, playing badminton and basketball under the hot 1pm sun, shifting our exercising grounds to the void deck and suffering from a severe 'shuttle-cock height limit'. Lunch was Ba Chor Mee for them and I taught them mahjong after that. haha.. Nothing chim abt the way I play because Im really not good at it as well. haha.. but both of them got the hang of it even though Glad made us 'reverse' our moves because she '吃 ’a tile when she is not supposed to. Because of this, my brother had to reverse his 'gang' as well. haha.. he was happy for nothing. Then the last game ended with glad being the 小象公. hmm.. hee. she is so talented I think she should play with me again=D

Hey guys. Happy New Year!! I spent my 'counting down' time watching 咖啡王子一号店 on youtube. So yes. I'm touching youtube again. But right now, I do not yet feel the rush of adrenaline of not staying on youtube all the time. I guess thats the difference of being hooked and unhooked.
